Robert Collings bids ACPA farewell

"ACPA has been the highlight of my career"

"All good things must come to an end, and my time with ACPA has been good. Alas, I have decided to retire early so that I can make the most of my time with my family, and spend more time sailing.

ACPA has been the highlight of my career, and although there is still much to do I feel that now is the right time to hand over the helm to a man who undoubtedly will be able to take ACPA to the next level, and maintain this ship on course towards the 2020 vision.

I’d like to thank all the Staff and Members of ACPA for their unrelenting hard work and support for me as the head of ACPA, and I have every confidence that you will all maintain this passion for an organization which is destined to positively change the face of Professional Accountancy on a global scale.

Our new Executive Chairman, George Thomas, has a great adventure ahead of him, and I’m sure that he will enjoy the excitement and challenges that will face him as ACPA continues to develop into the pioneering Accountancy Body that it is. I wish him the very best, and I am confident that ACPA is in the best of hands. God bless you all with a terrific future."

"I’m honoured and delighted to become the next Executive Chairman and CEO of ACPA. It is a mantle that I intend to wear proudly, and it is my intention to continue to build upon the great work completed to date.

Our previous Executive Chairman has done an outstanding job, and in many respects he will be a hard act to follow. On behalf of ACPA I’d like to convey to him our deepest appreciation and sincerest best wishes for his future. He has put ACPA on the right path and it is now my job to ensure that we maintain our commitment towards the 2020 vision.

There are many projects currently under way and the remaining months of 2010 promise to be very busy indeed. However; the resolve and determination of the Staff and Members of ACPA is legend, and I am certain that this year we will be able to achieve some very impressive milestones.

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank the Members of both the Executive Board and the Board of Governance for entrusting me with this honour, and providing me with an opportunity to become an integral part of one of the worlds most innovative and pioneering Professional Membership and Examination Bodies to date.
